Hussain Sajwani is a prominent entrepreneur in the Middle East known for founding DAMAC Properties in 2002. Hussain was an intelligent student who won a governmental scholarship to study in the US in 1978. He began by studying English in Atlanta after which he attended the University of Washington where he obtained a degree in Economics and industrial engineering.
Immediately after graduating from college, Hussain Sajwani began his profession working as a Contract Manager in GASCO and left the company to focus on his catering business that he created in 1982. This catering company is still operational supplying meals for the American armed forces posted in Kuwait and Afghanistan among other Middle East nations.
During the mid-90’s, the Dubai government passed legislation that permitted foreigners to trade and own property in the UAE and Hussain saw this as an opportunity to get involved in real estate. For this reason, he constructed several hotels to accommodate a large number of foreigners traveling to the country for business.
In 2002, Hussain Sajwani created the DAMAC properties in UAE and has since evolved to be one of the leading real estate companies in the Middle East. The DAMAC Properties specializes in several ventures including industrial projects, luxury serviced hotel apartments, real estate properties, golf and golf courses, logistics & education and hospitality. Moreover, the company has since expanded to other regions and has branches in Jordan, Qatar, Lebanon, North Africa and Saudi Arabia.

Additionally, Hussain Sajwani is an active philanthropist supporting several charitable foundations in the local community and abroad. For instance, in 2013, he donated AED 2 million to help cloth over 50,000 disadvantaged children. Mr. Sajwani also partners with foundations interested empowering young entrepreneurs to be successful.
